Victory Park Caravan Park – Historic Riverfront Camping in the Heart of Wilcannia

Victory Park Caravan Park offers a convenient and scenic stopover on the banks of the majestic Darling River (Baaka) in the historic township of Wilcannia. Operated by the Central Darling Shire Council, this park is perfectly positioned for travellers journeying along the Barrier Highway between Cobar and Broken Hill. Its location allows guests to enjoy the tranquility of the river while being just a short stroll from the town’s heritage buildings, shops, and services.

The park features shady, grassy sites suitable for caravans, motorhomes, and tents. You can choose from powered sites for extra comfort or unpowered sites closer to the riverbank for a more rustic experience. Recent upgrades have seen the installation of a new, modern amenities block, ensuring clean and accessible facilities for all guests. The park is well-maintained and offers a safe, friendly environment to rest and recharge during your outback adventure.

Staying at Victory Park places you in the centre of Wilcannia’s rich history. Once the third-largest inland port in Australia, the town is home to magnificent sandstone architecture, including the Post Office, Courthouse, and the National Trust-classified Centre-Lift Bridge. Whether you are fishing in the Darling, exploring the local history, or simply watching the sunset over the river red gums, Victory Park Caravan Park provides a comfortable and authentic outback experience.

Note: Bookings are essential, especially during peak travel seasons, and can be made easily via the Central Darling Shire Council website or by contacting the park caretakers directly upon arrival (check gate signage for details).
